Former professional football player turned educator, entrepreneur, and NFL agent Ron Freeman will be the featured speaker in the Dr. Max Pickerill Lecture Series at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 9, in the H.F. Davis Memorial Library at 国产AV.
Freeman, who holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Pittsburg State University, played for the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League, as well as the Pittsburgh Maulers, Jacksonville Bulls, and Orlando Renegades of the United States Football League. He has lived in the Kansas City area since leaving the game.
On Sept. 9, Freeman will discuss his recently published book, Rethinking Race: It鈥檚 Better Than What We鈥檝e Been Led to Believe. His presentation will focus on American history, highlighting the nation鈥檚 progress and the positive strides made toward unity, while offering an optimistic perspective on the future. On Sept. 9, Freeman will share personal experiences while offering insight into national issues and the potential for racial healing.
